Nalwa Aero 完成 eVTOL 飞行测试,推进本土航空器研发
Naidu meets Nalwa Aero team; Startup advances indigenous eVTOL aircraft
Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu met the team of Nalwa Aero, an Indian aerospace startup developing electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, and highlighted its progress in indigenous aviation technology.
In a post on X, the minister welcomed the successful flight testing of the startup’s electric box-wing aircraft, saying Indian innovations could redefine air travel.
“Indian startups are set to redefine how we fly!” Naidu said, highlighting the potential of eVTOL technology for flying taxis, air ambulances and cargo flights.
Nalwa Aero, a startup associated with Atal Incubation Centre T-Hub, is the first Indian company to secure the Directorate General of Civil Aviation’s (DGCA) Design Organisation Approval (DOA) in the five-seater-plus eVTOL category, according to the information provided.
The approval recognises the organisation’s design capabilities within its authorised scope. It is distinct from aircraft type certification and approval for commercial operations.
eVTOL aircraft are being developed for applications ranging from urban air mobility to emergency medical transport and cargo delivery. Nalwa Aero’s successful flight testing marks a step forward in its aircraft development, although further testing and regulatory clearances would be required before commercial operations can begin.
