Archer Aviation has outlined plans for electric air taxi networks in Austin, Dallas–Fort Worth and Houston, proposing routes linking major airports with business districts, sporting venues and coastal destinations across Texas.
The networks would use Archer’s all-electric Midnight aircraft, which is designed for short-distance urban air mobility operations. The company estimates that journeys taking 60–90 minutes by road could be reduced to flights of around 10–20 minutes, although the proposed routes remain plans rather than established services.

In Dallas–Fort Worth, the proposed network would connect Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, Dallas Love Field, Addison Airport, Arlington Municipal Airport, Fort Worth Meacham International Airport and Fort Worth Alliance Airport. Planned destinations include the Dallas Star complex at Frisco Station, which houses the Dallas Cowboys’ headquarters and training facilities.

Houston’s proposed network would link George Bush Intercontinental Airport, William P. Hobby Airport and Sugar Land Regional Airport with locations including a helipad at the Thompson Hotel downtown and Galveston. Archer says the routes could provide an alternative to road journeys between the city centre and the coast.

In Austin, the company plans to connect Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Austin Executive Airport with the helipad at Circuit of The Americas, which hosts the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix.
Archer said the plans form part of its preparations for potential operations in Texas under the US government’s Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing Integration Pilot Program (eIPP). The company also intends to expand its demonstrations to Los Angeles ahead of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The announcement follows Archer’s recent demonstration flights over San Francisco Bay. The company is displaying its Midnight aircraft at the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in Austin from 22 to 25 October 2026.
Infrastructure will be a key consideration for any future service. Archer, BETA Technologies and Macquarie Capital launched the America’s Consortium for Electric Skyways (ACES) to support interoperable charging infrastructure at up to 250 aviation sites across the US by 2030. The consortium is working with the Texas Department of Transportation and other partners on potential charging locations in the state.
